Thoughts on the afterlife without religion?

on Wed 28 Mar - 22:23
What are your thoughts on the afterlife without religion? Personally I think there’s an afterlife but I think it relates to quantum mechanics/multiverse/many worlds interpretations.

Without religion or without God? Whatever name you wish to call Him by.

It makes a huge difference.

Both. Even if there’s not a deity there could still be an afterlife. Personally I consider myself more of an agnostic, but I still think there could be something after we die. I oppose organized religion and you don’t need to necessarily believe in a deity to believe in an afterlife. I don’t claim to know with 100% certainty that a deity of some kind doesn’t exist, Deism makes more sense if you ask me than Theism.

If no one cares for us, and the universe (or multiverse) is a cold artifact of physics and nothing else, then no afterlife is much more likely than an afterlife. If that's true, we're all going to just one day lose consciousness for the last time and that's it. I wouldn't bet that there is an afterlife without God, quantum theory or no.

You might want to go to Creative Writing and read an old post of mine titled Rule Twenty-Seven. There are some points in there that might be relevant.

Best,
UN

I see God as the energy that IS the multiverse, God is inseperable from the universe and all of the planes of reality it contains. God loves freedom, because without it we cannot grow. We must have the capacity to sin so that we may learn from our mistakes, and this applies collectively as much as to individuals. God cannot and will not tell us what to do, we are born with a conscience, which is God within, which guides us in our daily activities. We do not submit to God, we reach agreement with and therefore connection to God. One should not place God on an unreachable pedestal, otherwise one passed up the change for genuine connection. Religion does not bring a person closer to God, paradoxically, it takes a person further away. In essence God is love, truth, energy and consciousness. Understand this and organized religion is unnecessary. The universe as we observe it is a hologram, we are a part of that hologram. God is the container for the hologram, the holo-emitters, and the contents of that hologram. The reality we take to be real is not real, it is an image and nothing more.

I think "god" is the sum total of the multiverse and we and everything that exists are parts of that ultimate whole. I believe in reincarnation because the universe recycles matter and energy everywhere else why nit our souls too? That said i dont think "god" is any more aware of us then we are of our own cells.
