New here - safe haven

Hello everyone, I'm Raul (name altered for privacy reasons and general paranoia), a 36 year old male in a long term partnership with my uncle(60) (my mother's brother). I was of legal age when we became romantically involved and it was something I did not expect or plan out. Because of our relationship, we were ostracized from family for 1) being two men in a relationship and 2) being related. I've not talked to any family other than one sibling since I was 20 years old.

We have a loving, healthy relationship and I've not been able to talk about it with most people over the years. I wish family would accept us for who we are, as our new friends have over the years where we've moved a few times. Thanks to all who created this site and I hope to read more about everyone and meet new e-friends. Thanks.

Welcome to the forums. I'm sorry to hear you've had problems with the rest of your family not accepting your relationship, sadly that's a common thing. The homophobia though... there simply isn't any excuse for that in today's world, so your family should be ashamed of themselves for behaving in this way.

That's sweet. I haven't heard of an uncle/nephew couple before. It's nice that it's working for you
