Your absolute favourite piece of music

on Mon 31 Oct - 22:54
Ok, this is a thread for everyone to post their all time favourite piece of music. Let's start with me:

[geekfest] The Great Giana Sisters - Composed by Chris Hulsbeck (1987), and remixed by many people. Here is one rendition of it that took my breath away with it's beauty:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViF9Ivx5yz0

If you want to hear the Hulsbeck original it was remixed from, it's an amiga chiptune but beautiful in it's own right:

Enjoy, and post your own number one favourites in this thread.

it's really amazing what a piano can do with music!
listened to the whole thing, thank you for sharing it; it's definitely a great piece! geekfest is all good
as for all-time number one favourite, it's hard to say... there's so many.
for now, maybe "The Gael"?

I really like ride of the Valkyries by Wagner. Not the stupid movie one with all the helicopters and machine guns but one played in a symphony hall. It almost makes me cry its so emotional.

I just listening to The Great Giana Sisters for the first time and I really enjoyed it! It's good! I also like Ride of the Valkyries.

Here are some of my current favorites:

My favorite piece of music of all time is Vivaldi's "Winter", from the Four Seasons symphony.

A close second is "Arena" by Lindsey Stirling.

Every time I listen to either one, it takes all my will power to not just burst out sobbing for no good goddamn reason. It's like someone's taking chunks off my heart with a hammer and chisel, and they're coming out of my eyes. Embarassed

that sounds really unpleasant, but like in a good way? sometimes it's better that way. I should listen to Lindsey Stirling's song, see what it's like.

Toccata and Fugue in D Minor. Played on a Schnitger pipe organ by a master.

"Angel from Montgomery," Bonnie Raitt and John Prine. Right now it fits my mood.

Music box Dancer by Frank Mills. I find it relaxing whether listening to it or playing it. I also really enjoy Chopins "Military" polonaise, opus 40 number 1 in A major.
