Intro from UK Empty Intro from UK

Hello KS,

My name's Dan, I'm 30 and I live in the UK. I stumbled across these forums as it seems to be quite the popular opinion that incest is the next phase of the sexual revolution. I won't cast any judgements, but I've heard a great deal both for and against the case, and although it is often portrayed as a grievous crime...there seem to be many consenting couples (of every variety), who are doing things for reasons of genuine love.

It would be interesting to hear other people's points of view as to how this "next phase" of sexual acceptance might take place instead of being further driven underground.

I suppose also I find mother/son relationships to be the rarest kind of relationship - as most of the incest that we are accustomed to seeing (and being told to be repulsed by) is perhaps brother/sister, and even that is portrayed in a terrible light such as rape or coercion. If the M/S relationship is indeed as rare as I think it is, then it must be a truly extraordinary set of circumstances that will have lead up to that, and if consensual, I am very intrigued as to how a standard parental relationship takes that kind of turn.

I'm not in a GSA relationship myself, as my own mother is somewhat disabled (advanced arthritis) - and father lives elsewhere. I will admit having some feelings toward my mother, but I've never voiced them, as I think she'd be mortified and I'd probably be told to pack my bags and leave. Even if in the hell-frozen-over scenario that she'd be open to more, being physically intimate would be extremely difficult due to her disability.

Here's hoping that this community might be an eye-opening avenue to people who have made the unorthodox decisions and for it to have worked out. Would love to have perhaps joined you in that sense...but it grows more unlikely with every passing day really.

Welcome Dan, and thank you for sharing what you did. I've cleared you for the rest of our forums.
I'm glad you feel it's a popular opinion we're part of the next sexual revolution. If people are talking about us, even if it's not always pleasant, we may be able to find dialogue & common ground.
They may be just my observations, but it feels like mothers & daughters are rarest. But, there may be others here who'd know more about that.

Perhaps it is more unlikely every day, but I'm still glad you found your way here, so you can be yourself.

Morning, Dan, and welcome. I get exactly where you’re coming from with this. You can talk about it safely here.

I have some ideas on how to bring about what I call the “Third Sexual Revolution,” but they’re in the realm of science fiction. Smile If you write fiction, you might be interested in the Consang Fiction Forum.

Welcome! We do have an activism area here where we can discuss what the options are as far as advancing civil rights. If adults aren't legally allowed to love each other how they mutually agree, what rights are safe?

As far as M/S... I don't think it is as rare as people think. I think it's just kept quiet more. Law enforcement is less likely to see it as abuse than F/D, for example. Young women can't be allowed their sexuality, after all.

I agree, it's more common than people think. Jane Doe's survey backs this up: 23% of those reporting.

Swatch, Welcome to the forums from a fellow Brit. Like Unowen said, go read the link he provided to my blog, that was a study I ran and it will show you the actual percentages. You might be mildly surprised.

I agree we're going to be pretty soon in the sexual revolution, but I'm not so sure we're next in line, I think Poly rights might come before us, but I could be wrong. Whatever order they come in, we will get our turn.

Thank you for all the replies - nice to know that this was not quite as uncommon as I thought!

It would be lovely to talk with other M/S couples about how they turned their situations into a successes.

I guess it is so rare when the feelings are reciprocated in the case of a M/S relationship that makes it unusual. I can sort of understand one person having feelings but the other person not, and nothing happening as a result, but for both to be willing and enthusiastic to start a relationship on another level, I haven't really got a chance of ever experiencing that, which is a shame.

In reply to UNOwen17, I don't write fiction..and even if I could, it probably would not be good, as I have no experience to back it up with.

Not in such a couple myself, but I have talked with a few. Only thing I can say is that it's different in every case. And very seldom entirely smooth. Browse through the "Your Story" forum and the other back posts and you'll see. You might also want to check some of the more recent threads in other forums.

Great Agatha Christie's ghost, you're halfway there! You got the capitalization right! Smile
