Hi everyone.

This is my first time back to Kindred Spirits in a long time.    Hope to network with great people and contribute to the supportive environment here.

I grew up always wondering why consanguinamorous relationships seemed to make sense to me and the taboo always seemed stupid.  In my teens, I had a strong but brief sexual relationship with my closest female cousin.  Unfortunately, though no one found out about us, family shaming caused her to end things and deny everything, even when we were alone.  It broke my heart.

Since then, I've tried to be a strong ally to all people who acknowledge such feelings.  Through fate or sheer luck, I've had more than my fair share of chance encounters where people opened up to me and I was given the chance to be truly supportive.  I'm proud to say I've seen many consanguinamorous relationships flourish.  Looking forward to doing more for people who are just looking to find happiness.

Hi, sorry you were not able to explore your relationship with your cousin. I can relate to how she might have felt, from 14-16 I had doubts that were created by social influences. Prior to 14, my relationship with my brother felt very natural to me and I enjoyed our closeness. Then at 14 I had my doubts for a couple of years and I was miserable because I was fighting against something that was right for me. Once I stopped fighting my feelings and attraction, things were right again.

It great that at least you had that experience so you understand how others might be have a strong attraction to a family remember.
