Hi I'm Asha. I'm 22 and I don't have much experience. But I've been in love with my older brother since highschool. I've been really ashamed of the way I feel for a really long time. About 3 months ago I told my brother how I feel about him. He was weirded out by it and let me know that he doesn't feel the same about me. But he did tell me that I'm his sister and he loves me no matter what. I'm just here to chat with other people like me to feel a little more normal and accepted

ASHA- don't be overwhelmed by his response. It is so normal. What is most important is you admitted your love for him. He will think about what you admitted to him, and he might just try to learn why you would say that to him. And if he finds us, and understands why we feel the way we do, hopefully he'll at least understand why you said what you did. And when he does, maybe he'll love why you said it. While you might never share the love you desire, you might just share the love that you intend.

Asha, don't despair about the situation with your brother. His initial reaction may have just resulted from being presented with your confession unexpectedly. It's always possible that his feelings about it may change over time. Give him some time to think about it.
