New like-dislike buttons
Fri 26 Jun 2020 - 20:28
Hi, all,
You may have noticed the new like-dislike buttons (thumbs-up and thumbs-down icons) in the lower left corner of messages. There are some differences between them and the upvote-downvote buttons (plus and minus icons) in the upper right:
Forumotion decided to add this feature. I’m not quite sure what we should do with it, though. I suppose we’ll all figure it out, eventually. Your suggestions are welcome.
Stay safe,

- Like and dislike do not affect member reputation. Upvote and downvote do.
- Like and dislike can be undone. Upvote and downvote can’t.
- Upvote and downvote are anonymous. Like and dislike aren’t.

I think it's something like...
You read a post about a person (that you find good or not, is not important) and you can like or unlike the question, the answer or the argumentation in general, but this don't influence your opinion about that person.
But, if you up-vote or down-vote the post, that mean that your opinion about this person can increase or decrease.
Going with logic, I think is this the difference, but I can misunderstood.
See you

Oh, in which case I was confused yesterday, I thought that these buttons had replaced the upvote/downvote buttons but performed the same function... thanks for correcting me. I guess it makes sense when we get some news we don't like, we can 'dislike' the news but at the same time upvote the person doing the reporting. Makes sense now

Looks like Forumactif has undone their changes. No more like-dislike buttons at the bottom left.

They might have temporarily taken down the feature to iron out any issues they'd been having, that wouldn't be uncommon when new features are added to software.
