Introduction

Hello everyone, I am a 27 year old male ally. My girlfriend in her early 20s told me she got very close to a cousin (also in his early 20s) but only got so far as kissing. She has since expressed the three of us getting involved together. Upon research I found Keith's site, and I learned this can occur when relatives grow up apart, which they did (only reuniting last year). That effect (what's it called–the westerberg?) then doesn't apply in that situation. So, rather than being judgmental I am trying to be understanding of what happened. I believe you’re talking about the Westermarck Effect, which ordinarily prevents close relatives from being attracted to each other. Relatives who don’t grow up together don’t have Westermarck, and can sometimes be intensely attracted to each other.
