Hello! I'm currently stricken (I guess that's a good a word as any) with GSA and some utterly overwhelming feelings for my daughter. I'm her father. She's 18 and I'm 47.

We were separated when she was very young, due to her mother. She doesn't have that many memories of me, yet somehow has still missed me terribly. It's been 12 years. I managed to find her information online, and now we talk on the phone and video chat constantly. After about a month and a half of that, I started having these feelings. I looked up info online and found out how common GSA seems to be, which blew my mind. Now I'm saving up money to go visit her.

I can't explain how strong my feelings are. It's like in comparison, I've never truly loved anyone else. I haven't disclosed these feelings to her yet. We both tell each other the most loving things, and she said that when I tell her she means everything to me, that she's so beautiful, etc., her heart does flip-flops. (I get butterflies in my stomach just thinking of her.) We'll talk on the phone for several hours, and then when we say goodbye, she says she'll miss me. These are good signs, and I truly hope they continue... but I'm afraid of reading too much into things. I'm so scared of having an unrequited love for her that will last the rest of my life. Because I know it will. I'm getting teary-eyed just writing this.

Also, to the admins: I first made a username of Headoverheels, but I guess I put the wrong email address, because I got no confirmation email. I'll be using this account only, so that other one can be deleted. (Just to prevent the two usernames with the same IP conundrum.) Thank you.

Hiya Headoverhazel, I hope finding our forum has helped you somewhat! If you have questions, feel free asking anything on your mind, or posting stuff in threads. Like you've said GSA comes with intense feelings, and it's not unusual for those to last a *very* long time, even if relationships don't happen. So it's totally understandable you feel nervous about it!
Also. Thank you for mentioning the dead username & email account problem. Sometimes we have problems with certain email addresses, I'm not sure why. But little things like that do make our job easier! it's appreciated ^_^ Unowen's right too though, shouldn't be a problem.
