I’m curious, though. Consanguineous unions are legal in France. What status are you specifically interested in improving?

It is my understanding that consensual sex between related adults is legal in France, but marriages between close relatives are not.

I've also read that when such couples have children together, the government is unwilling to legally acknowledge the father.

To other members: I've been speaking to Johann via e-mail for the last couple of weeks, he is interested in getting French law changed to allow consang marriage. If he succeeds, it will put pressure on other countries to at the very least not criminalize us. He is also learning more about us and expanding his knowledge, so I invited him here to participate in the forum as he is an ally.
