Wow, lost track of life and time and this forum, so I figure a re-introduction might be warranted.

I'm a 48 year old father of two wonderful kids, ages 27 and 29 who are in a loving relationship for... quite a long time now. They were a couple for a number of years before I found out and after confirming everything was "above board" in terms of their interactions, I tried to handle it in the most neutral and non-reactive way I could. I wanted them to be able to turn to me for whatever reason despite any awkwardness they felt about their bond.

I did my best to help them know they'd not get any judgement or trouble from me and if it was something that ended up being short term or just lust driven youth or if things phased out, or went sour between them, I could be a shoulder to cry on and try and help mend things up and be able to move on in a healthy way.

Of course, their connection ended up being more than something short term or temporary; a lot more.

To this day they're still together, very much in love, and even gave me a grandson 7 years ago after a snafu with birth control yielding a lot a stress and hard choices but pulled us all closer as a family as we dealt with it all.

I love them and my grandson with all my heart and fight constantly for their safety and ability to remain happy resulting in a couple moves, mild legal challenges, and even nosy new neighbors stirring up trouble. In the last couple of years however, everything is far more stable and I'm thrilled for their increasingly successful relationship together and while I was worried about their choices to go through with the pregnancy at first; I'm glad they made the harder choices when it came to the risks of allowing my grandson to be a part of their world and our family.

That said about them; about myself, I had some a short term "casual" experiences with incest involving my mom "helping me out" when I was younger (yes, I was over 18) but that is long days past and am more an ally than anything else now.

So I'd like to return here because life is trying to resemble calming down, I think we're FINALLY done moving and settled into a safe, quiet neighborhood, the loss of my mom, and my kids once again wrestling with elements of challenge bringing up my grandson due to their relationship just has me once again wanting to have more advice than I can possibly provide to them from my own self.

I look forward to trying to catch up and actually participate more

Firstly I would like to say what a relief having found this forum following a lengthy article I read last night. The immense turmoil my brain has been in for the last couple of years has at times been far too much , and not being able to openly or remotely talk to anyone has been hard. A little about me in brief. I'm 'A' and 43 years young (or so I wish to believe ).
This is actually a weight off but hard to explain being the only time I've ever said this loudly.
