These accounts were found to be sock puppets of the same member. (The person claiming to be “Andy and Barb” technically requested deletion, but the effect is the same — he’s gone.)

I don’t know why some people feel compelled to create phony personas. More than likely, if whoever was behind these sock puppets had just told us the truth about himself, he’d have been accepted. But Rule 11 is one member, one account, and it’s there for a reason. We want our members to be genuine, whoever they are and whatever are their feelings and beliefs.

Exactly. We use screen names here. We don’t ask people to give their real names or use their personal photo. There’s no legit reason anyone would need more than one account here at the same time.

Sock Puppetry is a serious offence here, and let's face it, it's fucking sad! We've created an environment here in which people can use the forum anonymously and safely, where people can be fully honest with others who are going through similar issues. Sock Puppetry is by definition lying, and it undermines and weakens the culture of trust and integrity we are building here. If you are sock puppeting, you will be found out, and you will get banned, be warned.
